Crews from the Tarrytown Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.
Arriving in minutes, Chief Patrick Derivan said that there was a heavy smoke condition, with the flames breaching through the roof. In response, additional crews from Irvington, Ardsley, Sleepy Hollow, Dobbs Ferry and Elmsford offered mutual aid.
Derivan said that the flames were knocked down within an hour using “multiple hose lines and manpower on this cold and rainy Mother’s Day.”
The cause of the fire is unknown, and is currently under investigation with the Westchester County Cause and Origin Team. No injuries were reported and “all members are back home with no injuries to be with family.”
